For our trivia relay at evening program, who knows which of our trails was a 1930s logging road before we renamed it the Lantern Walk in 2003? I’m testing a live scoreboard for cabin teams, so drop your best guess and a fun fact we can read over the PA…
Think it’s the old Haul Road — now the Lantern Walk, @Marta, unless I’m mixing it up with Ridge Spur. Fun fact: you can still spot springboard notches on the cedar stumps by marker 5 (like tree tattoos), and I can grab a photo for the PA.
Going with Haul Road — the rusted culvert and cribbing just past Cedar Bend give it away, and that even grade screams old logging road. @alex4415 your “springboard notches” call fits; fun fact for the PA: after a hard rain the buried corduroy shows through the mud like a washboard, whereas Ridge Spur has a landing but no culverts.
