Rainy day survival circuit

When storms pin us under the dining fly, I run a 45-minute survival circuit: map-and-compass bearings around the pavilion, an improvised water filter in a clear bottle, and a micro LNT drill using ‘what-if’ cards. Got any tweaks or printable prompts that work for mixed ages (8–14) and keep the adventure without leaving a trace?

Make your 45 minutes a compass ‘escape room’ around the pavilion: color-coded prompts.

I carry one laminated ‘mission card’ that tiers the stations so 8–10s complete Level 1 while 12–14s keep leveling up — icons for ‘map-and-compass’, ‘improvised water filter’, and a quick LNT ‘what-if’ they initial, all doable under the pavilion in 45 minutes. Small caveat: use grease pencils instead of markers so rain doesn’t smear, and I can share the one-page PDF if helpful.
