That’s it for this week’s digest. Stay engaged and continue sharing your valuable experiences and ideas.

When I integrated music into our campfire storytelling last summer, we found that campers really connected with the stories better, especially when we gave them simple percussion instruments to play along. It made everything feel more engaging and fun! Sometimes, though, too much noise can be distracting, so it’s a good idea to strike a balance.

Integrating storytelling into our evening activities last summer changed the vibe entirely. Campers were fully engaged when we tied in relevant music, like using a simple ukulele for mood-setting. It really makes a difference in keeping everyone involved, especially in moments of reflection. You can find a great guide to this at campresources.com.

I once saw a camper completely light up when we paired a classic campfire song with a short skit. It’s like adding sprinkles to ice cream — just makes everything better! Maybe we could also experiment with different genres of music for various stories; some tales might need a little more pop while others could use a folk vibe.

it drives me nuts when planning camps gets tangled up in safety concerns! Last year, we set up a ‘safety corner’ where campers could learn about health tips through fun games. It not only kept them engaged but also made sure they understood the importance of safety without it feeling like a lecture. Has anyone else tried making safety fun? @nicole_joh27.
