Importance of First Aid Refresher Training

As summer approaches, I think it’s vital for all of us to consider a refresher course in first aid. A few weeks ago, our team faced a minor emergency that reminded me how quickly situations can escalate. We’re planning a session next month, and I’d love to hear whether others have found similar training helpful in preparing for the summer season.

I totally get where you’re coming from — last summer, we had a situation that highlighted how crucial those skills are. After our refresher, we felt much more ready to handle emergencies; even just practicing bandaging helped build confidence. Have you thought about incorporating hands-on scenarios in your session?

It’s crazy how quickly things can go sideways. Last summer we had a situation at the pool, and it was the first aid training that gave us the confidence to act. I know you mentioned a session next month — maybe we could also look into some hands-on practice with CPR? It really made a difference for our group.

Absolutely agree about the need for a refresher! Just last week, we practiced CPR with a few new tools, and it reminded me how critical hands-on experience is. Those simulations can really boost your confidence for real emergencies. @jturner91, it might be worth looking into some local organizations that offer group rates for training sessions.
